Carolyn and Chris met in Kansas City while working at Sporting Kansas City, the place where their love story began. With none of their family based in KC, their wedding quickly became a destination celebration – an opportunity to showcase the city they love to the people they love most.
They chose The Guild, a modern-industrial venue located in the heart of downtown Kansas City, as the perfect backdrop for their day. The vision? A fun, elevated garden party full of color, personality, and pattern. Carolyn wasn’t afraid to embrace bold hues, which made creating her design deck an absolute joy. Her style gave us the creative freedom to think outside the box and bring a playful yet refined aesthetic to life.
In a nod to where it all started, we found a subtle and meaningful way to incorporate Sporting KC into the design. The ceremony backdrop featured their iconic argyle pattern – reimagined in lush greenery. It blended seamlessly into the garden courtyard, offering a hidden layer of symbolism that felt both personal and elevated.
To top off the celebration, Carolyn and Chris – both passionate coffee lovers – treated their guests to a late-night espresso bar and a slice of tiramisu. It was the perfect ending to a day that felt as vibrant, thoughtful, and joyful as the couple themselves.
